Delaware is known for being a big producer of ice cream. While we aren’t home to the Ice Cream Capital of the World (thanks, Iowa), we’re sure home to some mighty fine dairies and creameries. One of the oldest in the state, Vanderwende Creamery, is still making some of the best ice cream in Delaware since they opened up their farm 65 years ago.

Vanderwende Creamery is a family-run dairy located in Bridgeville, Delaware. This third-generation farm started with just $35 and six cows in 1954 and has since grown to a 4,000 acre, 225 cow operation!

You can meet many of their friendly Holstein dairy cows when you visit this spring or summer to pick up some of the best ice cream in Delaware.
